Jenny & Jack: Los Angeles

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

I shot some engagment photos this past December for Jenny & Jack. We went from Temescal Gateway Park to the Santa Monica bluffs and finally to the Santa Monica Pier. Being from Boston, I’ll never take the Southern California sunsets and the incredible weather for granted.

Wall o’ Photos

Friday, January 18th, 2008

I post a lot of photos online but I haven’t really printed that many in the past year because I didn’t have a good way of putting them up. I didn’t want to just tape them up and framing each one would get really expensive and take up a lot of wall space that I don’t have. Plus, I want to change them on a regular basis so they need to be semi-permanent. The other day I was watching a documentary on James Nachtwey and they were showing him reviewing some of his photos. What he does is he puts them up on this huge grey metal board using magnets. It was perfect! That weekend I went down to Ikea and bought a bunch of metal boards to put up over my bed and by my computer. I also bought some awesome cube magnets that are about 1/8″ on each side but they’re ridiculously strong. So, here are the results:

The 4 metal boards over my bed

One metal board by my computer.

Close up of a magnet. It’s in the corner of the sepia photo in the lower right corner in the photo above.

Large prints are awesome. I wish I had more wall space.

A New Year and a New Blog

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

I created a new blog for Partita Photography that focuses on both my professional and personal photos and any other photo-related stuff. The photoblog will still have my favorite personal photos. The main feature of this new blog are the large images with a width of 800 pixels. Anyway, on with the photos…

I went out to Redrock Canyon to take some photos of the first sunrise of the new year.
